What is a tracking cookie and How to delete them?

Posted September 21st, 2010 in How to, Question & Answers by JA Team

Cookies are a just small .txt (text) files that cannot damage your computer solely. Cookies are “set” by almost EVERY web-site that you visit, on every day basis. You can delete all your cookies today and by the time you finished surfing websites, you’ll have another pile of text files created by the websites you have visited.

Cookies DO NOT slow down a computer, at least the first million or so that you might have on your computer! This is because of its size – its size usually in bytes which is very small if you know much about computer data.

They are NOT a virus or spyware, but SOME people consider “tracking” cookies to be an invasion of privacy. These tracking cookies are “3rd party cookies” from advertising servers. They can track your movements around the web in order to deliver to you customized, targeted advertising. This can sometimes be good and sometimes be very bad in terms of personal perceptions and considerations.

It all depends on ones personal level of paranoia, whether one considers tracking cookies some kind of threat. Some anti-spyware programs do not even report tracking cookies as even a minor threat.

If these tracking cookies DO bother you AND you are using Internet Explorer for a browser, a simple change of a setting can let you permanently block all 3rd party (tracking) cookies.

How to set up an e-commerce site using paypal?

Posted November 12th, 2009 in Technology Related by JA Team

While browsing around, i clicked through this interesting article that outlines all the necessary procedures required to create your very own e-commerce website.

Selling stuff online has become the new “side business” of many Internet users, whether it’s used clothes, vintage computer items, custom-made gadgets, or homemade cookies. There are numerous venues to do this without having to expend any brainpower (eBay still being the go-to source) but there are downsides to using those services—namely, there are so many people using them to sell items of questionable quality that it’s easy to get dismissed as “yet another eBay seller.”
